Omar Alabed

Omar Alabed is a music researcher, writer and visual artist who works at the intersections of image and rhythm. Through his poetic language, Omar explores and analyzes diverse music genres, with a strong focus on the traditional rhymes of rural and nomadic Arab populations. In his approach to art, Omar creates with plaster, a material he "inherited" from his father’s profession. Between creation and manipulation, he attempts to create a balance between craftsmanship and art, merging traditional techniques with contemporary art perspectives.
