This year’s 9-month residency fostered a nurturing environment for eight artists, both emerging and in mid-career, inviting them to engage deeply with their individual practices while collectively navigating the complexities of our current context. Although no specific theme was originally designated for this cohort, the communal activities organically gravitated towards conceptual explorations of soil, land, belonging, and the politics of ownership. This convergence of ideas not only highlighted the interrelationships among their diverse artistic practices but also sparked inspired collaborations, encouraging a dialogue that reflected on the nuanced connections between identity, environment, and community in the artistic landscape.
