In defence of the rocket

In Defense of the Rocket was a film night curated by Tamara Nassar. The cinematic evening comprised of a number of short films that evoked Gazan resilience, the determination of Palestinian childhood and the madness of bearing witness to the occupation. The common thread among these selected films was to highlight the fact that, despite everything, Palestinians in Gaza are the freest people in the world.

This evening was part of the Resistance film program, proposed to explore cinematic creations that explore resistance and liberation, seeing Liberation movements all over the world, from Chiapas to Gaza to Hanoi.

Tamara Nassar is a Palestinian writer born and raised in Amman, Jordan. She is an associate editor of The Electronic Intifada.
