The lesser amman library launched its program “the first and last writing lab” under the supervision of Nathier Malkawi. The lab presented a shared space for a group of writers to meet, dialogue and interact, an included an index of extensive readings and discussions of the participants’ texts, in addition to group activities related to writing. The lab was inspired by Benedict Anderson's ideas about imagined communities, and Judith Butler's statements about the formation of the self through the other.

Natheer Malkawi holds a BA in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan. He mainly writes short stories and literary articles. In 2021, he was awarded an AFAC grant for critical and creative writing, and his first collection of short stories, entitled "The Clinic of Low-Brow Literature", is forthcoming. Alongside writing, or maybe closer to it, Natheer also works as the librarian of lesser amman library.
