The blue sea has bays, inhabited by fish and coral workshop
May 2023
This multi-session workshop, led by Abdullah Sharw, delved into the concept of narrative thread structures and aesthetics. Participants shared their archives and personal histories and explored means of 'retelling' them in various participatory and performative approaches. The editing and montage stage has always been the culmination of the visual story-making process, producing an end result that is rarely interactive with the audience. This workshop sought to shake the narrative, and establish more intimate and tender connections between the storyteller and their audience in a collaborative group endeavor.
Abdullah Sharw is a multi-disciplinary Kurdish artist who works between Istanbul and Amman. His work, often visual-based, explores themes of identity and existence. Abdullah is interested in new media arts and technology as a narrating tool.
