During their stay in mmag, playwrights Almonther Aldamani and Haya Dakour invited the audience to join them and enter the world of "Little Things". The first version of the script had been written during the new playwriting workshop with the Miraya Theatre Foundation, and the script was further developed during an artistic residency in mmag with the support of the “Cultural Resource” program.
"Little Things" is the final part of the "Death and the Sun" trilogy, which consisted of three theatrical texts that discussed the manifestations of death and freedom in human behavior within the city of Damascus over the past 13 years. The events of the script took place in Damascus in 2023 and revolved around twins, Youssef and Leah, who shared their 28th birthday—the age at which their mother had committed suicide. They tried to find simple words of survival, shared their different visions of the past, and struggled violently in the present. They spoke of their dreams of travel and the inevitability of survival, until one of them found themselves forced to kill the other after living together or parting had become impossible.
